探究一:On the one hand...,on the other hand...的用法
On the one hand...,on the other hand...意为“ ”。
On the one hand,a lot of people went to the US,but on the other hand,a lot of people came back from there.一方面,许多人前往美国;另一方面,很多人又从那回来。
拓展:give sb.a hand“给予某人帮助”;hand in“交上,上交”;hand out“分发”。 探究二:英语中分数的表达法

探究三:whether的用法
whether在此处是连词,意为“ ”,用以引入选择的可能性,引导的句子通常作状语。whether...or...意为“不管……还是……”,引导 从句。

拓展:whether引导 从句时意思为“是否”,可与if互换。但只用whether不用if的三种情况:
① 词之后。
I’m interested in whether you’ll join the sports club. ②与 连用时。
Let me know whether you can come or not. ③ 前。
I don’t know whether to accept or refuse. 探究四:close to的用法
close to意为“ ”。 拓展:①close作形容词,意为“ ”。

whenever意为“ ”,相当于 ,引导让步状语从句。

whatever=no matter what无论什么 wherever=no matter where无论哪里 however=no matter how不管怎样
I’ll never forget you wherever you go.=I’ll never forget you no matter where you go.不管你去哪里,我都不会忘记你。
