Stephen Wiltshire is a famous artist. His drawings --- often drawn from memory and at great speed --- are sketched(素描) on the spot at street level.

Stephen, who was born in London in 1974, didn't say a word as a small child, and found it hard to relate to other people. At the age of five, Stephen was sent to Queensmill School, London, where it soon became apparent(显然的) that he communicated through the language of drawing. But Stephen came to wider public attention when the BBC featured him in the programme, \"The Foolish Wise Ones\" in 1987, when he was introduced by Sir Hugh Casson (a past president of the Royal Academy), as \"the best child artist in Britain\".

After that, Stephen's reputation(名声) grew worldwide. A second BBC documentary in 2001 showed Stephen flying over London in a helicopter and later completing a detailed drawing of London within three hours, which included 12 historic landmarks(地标性建筑)and 200 other structures.

Mekong fresh water irrawaddy dolphin(短吻海豚) is an endangered species(濒危物种) throughout Asia, with reducing numbers inhabiting(栖息) stretches of the Mekong in Cambodia and Laos, and Bangladesh. The dolphin can live up to 30 years, grow up to 2.5m in length, and can weigh 150kg.

Fortunately for travelers, the dolphins have become a popular tourist attraction in recent years, providing a vital development to the local economy. Kratie, a sleepy provincial capital 7 hours by bus from Phnom Penh, is the best place to see them. The irrawaddy dolphins live in deep Mekong pool all year round and can be found at Kampi village 15km north of Kratie town, which has become a symbol of the town's rejuvenation after years of war and neglect. The trip to see the dolphin can be started at any time of the day from Kraie town and travel upstream around 30 minutes by car along a quiet paved road to Kampi, a riverside fishing village.

The dolphins can usually be seen right from the river bank, but it's worthwhile(值得的) to take a spotting cruise in one of the wooden long-tail boats available for hire. The irrawaddy dolphins won’t come right up to the boat like their gregarious(群居的) salt-water cousins, but they are easy to find, lying lazily about on the surface, or breaking water with a distinctive puff of spray while chasing fish.

The boat trip in drive season is only 60 minutes. The boat men will turn off the motor to approach the dolphins and sail with wooden oars, or simply make fast to a clump off brush when dolphins are nearby. In just over an hour on the boat, you will see the dolphins over a hundred times, at a range close enough to distinguish(辨别) between individual animals.

Although the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand have English as an official language, the United States does not have an official language. This is how it’s possible to become a US citizen without speaking English. Canada also has French as an official language, though it is mostly spoken in the province of Quebec. Because many of the English speakers who originally inhabited(居住) Canada came from the US, there is little difference in the American and Canadian dialects of English. Similarly, Australian and New Zealand English have few differences, except Australia was originally settled as a penal colony(流放地) and New Zealand was not.

British colonialism has spread English all over the world, and it still holds prestige(影响力) in South Africa, India, and Singapore, among other nations. In South Africa, English became an official language, along with Afrikaans and 9 African languages, in the 1996 constitution(宪法). However, only 3% of the country's 30 million people are native English speakers. Twenty percent are descendants(后代) of Dutch farmers who speak Afrikaans, and the rest are native Africans.

India became independent from Britain in 1947, and the English language was supposed to be phased out(淘汰) by 1965. However, today English and Hindi are the official languages. Indian English is characterized(具有…的特征) by treating mass

nouns as count nouns, frequent(频繁的) use of the \"isn’t it?\" tag, use of more compounds, and a different use of prepositions. In Singapore, Chinese, Malay and Indian languages have an impact(影响) on the form of English spoken. Everyone is taught English in the school system, but there are a few differences from British English as well. Many people seem to love potatoes however they are cooked. But have you ever asked

yourself where they came from?

One day, a difficult customer wanted fried potatoes, sliced thinly. When they arrived, he said they weren't thin enough. 40 In the end, Crum got annoyed and sliced the potatoes as thinly as he could and fried them, and then added lots of salt. Hello, my name is Sally Croft, and I’m here to tell you about next month’s trip to France.

First of all, a lot of you have asked what the weather will be like next month. Well, it will be a little cool in the evening, so I recommend that you take a sweatshirt or a sweater with you.
