Teacher’s Day
Teaching is the most glorious and respected career. On Teacher’s Day, I’d like to express my innermost appreciation and gratefulness to all the teachers in the world!
Teachers are the shapers of human souls. I still remember how my teachers pulled my through a critical moment. I did a bad job in the first preparation test for the entrance examination and I was considerably depressed. Then my teachers came to my rescue. Patiently, my English teacher analyzed the paper word by word and encouraged me to carry on My Chemistry teacher also gave me a precious gift. He told me not to be obsessed with the test results and encouraged me to find fun in learning. Their help enabled me to survive the competition and will surely benefit me in the future.
Perhaps I’ll never have a chance to repay all that I have received from my teachers. But I’ll try to be a useful person and become their pride

Should the University Campus Be Open to Tourists?
One can always find visitors taking pictures and enjoying the scenery in university campus. During the May Day Holiday, National Day Holiday, summer and winter vacations, many University campuses become popular tourist sites. In my opinion, university campus should be open to tourists.
In fact, there are many royal gardens and parks, all of them obviously better than the scenery in the Universities. Why do you think people prefer visiting here with their children? That is because it is a dream goal for many Chinese parents and young ambitious students. Besides this, as more tourists come to visit universities, these universities can widen their influence as well and they can also make some profit from the tourism.
In a word, I think the university campus should be open to the tourists

The hard and hectic (busy and bustling) semester is drawing to close. The Students’ Union is scheduled to organize a clean-up program to the Zhongshan Lake. The purpose of this program is to enhance the environment awareness of general public. We are now recruiting new members of volunteers for the event.
The program procedure goes like this: next Saturday morning at 9:00 volunteers of 50 will go to the Zhongshan lake .Around the lake we will put up signs and posters calling people’s attention to the importance of in environment protection and pick up the trash by some tourists. This will certainly attract a lot of people since it is a weekend and the park is particularly popular with tourists. Each day there is an estimated number of 2000 people visiting the place, sight-seeing and picnic-going. This must be both exiting and rewarding.

What Electives To Choose
With the reform of Chinese higher education, more and more colleges and universities put emphasis on nurturing students’ abilities. As a result, elective courses are available not only for excellent academic performers but also for students about the average level.
Certainly, students have different reasons to choose their own electives. For some, practical skills are the essence of college education, and therefore, courses on computer science, marketing, and finance are highly preferred. On the other hand, others may hold

the idea of liberal education and electives concerning literature, history, and philosophy are the most welcome.
Take me as an example: being a disciple of free education, I stand for the notion that university is not a place for survival skills, but a palace of knowledge and critical reasoning. Although my major is chemistry, the electives I attend most frequently are English literature, an Introduction to Classic Music, and Different Schools of Western Painting. They really widen my horizon.

First of all, the use of disposable plastic bags causes irreversible harm to our environment. As these bags are not biodegradable, they are blocking the drainage system and causing water pollution.
What’s more, customers using disposable plastic bags may think that they are of great convenience. But what they don’t quite realize is that there will be remarkable

negative impact on our health. And sometimes careless disposal of these bags may even poison some innocent animals.
In view of the severity of this issue, effective measures have been taken in our country. There has been a strict limit on the using of disposable plastic bags in supermarkets, which not only enhances people’s awareness on environmental protection but also cuts down the cost of the running of supermarkets.

Free Admission to Museums?
Nowadays, a lot of museums open to the public for free, and a lot of people are attracted to go there. However, it also brought problems.
At present, people can get knowledge from many ways like libraries, internet, and other sources. However, there is also much information that people cannot get from the above ways. Free admission museums supply more chances for the public to get knowledge that cannot be easily accessed. People can learn more things about history, art, science and so on. Although this kind of policy brought much convenience to the public, it

also, for example, beggars and shabby-dressed people may enter the museums and cause bad reputation among the public; along with the increasing number of people getting into museums, there will be no enough service establishments to meet the requirements; besides, under the policy of free admission, the cultural relics displayed there may be inevitably broken or damaged by the crowds. Moreover, the crowds in the museums may also cause security problems.
In my opinion, free admission is a good policy for the public, and it brings the public much convenience. But, we should also take possible measures to protect the cultural relics and maintain the order of spot. Besides, we can also take the policy of giving free admission first to children, then to the retired person, and last to the public. I think, this may help to solve the problems.
