摘要： An intraocular lens (10A) intended to be placed either in the anterior chamber(24) in the posterior chamber (28) of the eye (14) using a lens portion (12) intended to beplaced in proximity of one side of the iris and by a flexible support (76 or 78) extendingfrom the lens portion (12) up to the extreme periphery of the iris. In order to avoidcontact with the endothelium, the support (76, 78) has the form of a loop having aconfiguration has flattened cross-section or oval wherein the smallest dimension isoriented substantially perpendicular to the optical axis of the lens (12). In this way, anyforce directed against the end portion of the holder (76. 78) causes its lateral expansion,generally perpendicular to the optical axis of the lens (12) and pupil rather than in avertical direction towards the interior or outwards relative to the plane of the iris. Thelimited expansion of the support (76, 78) also allows a variation of eye sizes, thusreducing the number of lenses required different sizes and accurate at the time of theintervention. The lens structure (10A) with the flexible substrates (76, 78) solves a lot ofproblems relating to the intraocular lens of the prior art such as post-operative
dislocation either entirely or subsequent to the inside the eye and uveitis, iritis, glaucoma,and persistent pain in the eye pressure.
