During the Warring States Period, there was a musician called Gongming Yi,who played musical instrument—qixianqin very well.He loved it so much that he played it at home almost every day.A great number of people would like to listen to him,and admired him very much. They all said that the man was such a great musician. When they were free, they often went to Gongming Yi's house and listened to his music.
One day,Gongming Yi saw a cow when he was having fun in the countryside.Suddenly,he had a strange idea.“Since everybody loves my music, why don't I play some music for this cow?” Then he moved his qixianqin in front of the cow.And he began to play it.He played the qixianqin very well and the music was beautiful, but the cow showed no reaction at all.It just kept eating grass with its head down.He thought the music he played might be too difficult for the cow.So he tried to play some easy music. However, after playing for a long time,Gongming Yi was disappointed. He began to question his musical ability. He said to himself,“The cow didn't understand my music.” Then he shook his head and went away.
This is a funny story, but it is educational. We can learn two lessons from the story.First, don't say anything to the people who don't understand you at all.Second,if you talk to a wrong listener, you are silly and wasting time.

It happens all the time—you are standing on a bus, listening to music, when you feel someone's breath on the back of your neck. You think to yourself:Is this person getting too close to me?The answer is yes.Everyone has a sense of personal space.5.
According to a new study, the size of the space is different for different people, but generally it is between 20 to 40 centimeters in front of the face.In the study, researchers from University College of London asked volunteers to hold their hands at different distances from their face. They then gave them an electric shock(电击) on their hand while measuring how often the volunteers blinked(眨眼).6.
The results among the volunteers were a little different, but the average personal space was 20 to 40 centimeters.Researchers also found that the more anxious a person was,the larger their personal space was because they were more sensitive(敏感的).
7. For example,a person who grew up in a country that hugs a lot has less of a problem with strangers getting too close than a person who grew up in one with more distance between people.
People's senses of personal space also depend on the environment they are in.If you are chatting with someone in your living room, you won't want a large safety place at all.8.
Sadly, sometimes people just don't understand the idea of personal space and keep getting into yours.9. Researchers suggest that you “create a new space” by turning to wave at someone passing by or to get something out of your bag.
A. Culture is also thought to be able to change your personal space. B.But how big is this space?
C.People in different countries have different personal space.
D.The more they blinked, the more of a threat(威胁) they felt the shock was to their face. E.Whenever that happens, you needn't try to step backwards often. F.What is a sense of personal space exactly?
G.But if you are walking through a dangerous area, then that will be much bigger.
