We are always talking about children’s educational problems, particularly whether to encourage them to compete or teach them to cooperate. People often have different views.
There’s a view that children should have a sense of competition. On one hand, the competitive ones will be more independent and ambitious in the future, they will have much more opportunities and are more likely to win when there is competition. On the other hand, children will work more hard and efficient with a sense of competition. As our society changes fast, the competition among people is becoming more and more fierce.
Others with an opposite view think that children should be caught to cooperate. First, children can learn to get along and communicate with others while cooperating, they will be more sympathy and kind. Second, when they became adults, they can handle the relationship between individuals, or individual and the collectivity. Last but not the least, many hands make light work, that’s the power of teamwork.
In my point of view, children should take more chances to cooperate with others, then improve themselves. Since nobody is perfect, they all have to learn from others, and everyone has some shortcomings that they never paid attention to, other’s suggestions are the strongest power for them to correct. Also, only by learning from others could they improve ourselves, then their competitiveness will be enhanced, that’s the final purpose.
In one word, I support that children should be more competitive, but only by the means of cooperating with others.
