摘要：A deterioration determination device for a catalyst (7), which is capable ofaccurately determining deterioration of a catalyst without being influenced by theresponse delays of outputs from the upstream and downstream oxygen concentrationparameter sensors. The deterioration determination device includes upstream anddownstream LAF sensors (12,13) for detecting respective upstream and downstreamoxygen concentration parameters. After switching exhaust gases flowing through theformer parameter sensor into the catalyst to a reduction atmosphere, an upstreamoxygen concentration parameter (KACT1) detected for comparison when a

predetermined time period elapses after it exceeds a predetermined value (KACTREF) iscompared with a downstream oxygen concentration parameter (KACT2) detected forcomparison when the predetermined time period elapses after it exceeds the

predetermined value. Based results of the comparison, deterioration of the catalyst isdetermined.
