  2. call可用作不及物动词,也可用作及物动词。作“喊”“叫”解时,多接简单宾语; 作“叫来”“请来”解时,多接双宾语,其间接宾语可转化为介词to的宾语; 作“命名”“称为”“认为是”解时,可接以名词或形容词充当补足语的复合宾语。充当宾语补足语的名词除专指某人外,一般都用冠词。call偶尔也可接由动词不定式充当补足语的复合宾语。call接复合宾语时,如宾语为动词不定式或动名词,而其补足语为形容词或名词时,则须以it置于宾语位置上充当形式宾语,而把真正的宾语置于其补足语之后。

  2. call作“需要”“理由”解时,多为不可数名词,主要用于否定句或疑问句中。若表示具体要求时,为可数名词。

  4. call没有“吩咐某人做什么”的意思,可以用动词tell或ask来代替call去表示。call sb to do表示“高声唤某人做某事”,如call him to help me有“高声唤他来帮助我”的意思;
  5. 短语call for的用法:可表示“需要”的意思,其后可加不定式。还可表示其他意思,如句子The meeting was called for I July表示“会议被决定在7月8日召开”。

    The work is important enough to call for us to exercise great care.
